Purpose: The policy symposium focuses on the challenges and opportunities the Obama Administration faces given the many U.S. differences and commonalities with Iran. We expect a vigorous debate. AIC is also proud to present the first Nowruz Reception held on Capitol Hill.

Place, Date and Time: This Symposium and Nowruz Reception will take place on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 pm at the Senate Hart Building, Rm. 902. Further details will be provided upon registration, which is required.
Speakers and Audience: We are confirming participants from the U.S. Congress, diplomatic, policy and business communities, academia, media, & general public. We hope to have guests from the Executive Branch.
NOWRUZ RECEPTION PRESENTATION (3:00 PM)

- Festivities with Persian Cuisine and Music
Nowruz is the Persian New Year (Year 1388 on Persian Calendar):
- A festival that re-affirms our ties to nature and humankind.
- A celebration of an ancient culture from the time of Jamshid that heralds the vernal equinox and continues for thirteen days.
- A secular celebration of spring, renewal, rebirth and new life is so for the farmer as it is for the city dweller, a joyous reawakening.
Program: The Symposium will begin at 12:30 p.m. with registration. Presentations and discussions will commence at 1:00 p.m. sharp and adjourn at 3:00 p.m. The Nowruz Reception will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a short presentation on the history and significance of Nowruz.
Registration: To participate in this unique event, we recommend that you pre-register (free). While we wish to accommodate as many participants as possible, space is limited and it is highly recommended that you register ASAP by email or phone.
