Andrew Lumsden is a Research Fellow with AIC. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Affairs and Global Justice at the City University of New York-Brooklyn College. His primary areas of interest are human rights and the economic and geopolitical relationships between countries of the Global North and the Global South.
After beginning closer study of Iran as part of a human rights advocacy coalition, he realized that while areas of grave concern remain, there is much about the country’s politics and society which are misunderstood in the West. He hopes through his work with the Council to help dispel some of the myths about Iran which have often blocked the path to peace and cooperation.
