Prominent Entrepreneur to Bring Business Community Behind US-Iran Peace
Princeton, NJ, November 4, 2013– The American Iranian Council is pleased to welcome Mr. Michael Caridi to its Board of Directors. He is currently Managing Director of Seahawk Capital Partners, which specializes in business development & consulting, mainly in the biotechnology industry. He is also Chairman of MAJIC Development Group LLC.
“To improve relations between the United States and Iran, we need all sectors of society actively invested and involved in the process,” Founder and President of the AIC, Dr. Hooshang Amirahmadi, said. “Michael’s participation represents a major win for the AIC in demonstrating the business community’s commitment to better US-Iran relations.”
Mr. Caridi’s philanthropic efforts have rivaled those of his business successes. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Italian American Associations, the Republican Leadership Council, The Forum Club, The National Ethnic and Charitable Organization, and The Italo American Foundation.
“I am excited to be joining such an accomplished organization at this particular time in the history of US-Iran relations,” said Michael Caridi. “The issues between the two countries are all resolvable if people approach them with an open mind.”
The AIC is a 501(c) (3) tax-deductible organization headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. The Council pioneered the push for normalization of relations between the United States and Iran over two decades ago. The Council’s achievements remain unsurpassed. To cite just one example, Secretary Madeleine Albright delivered her historic speech on Iran at an AIC event, when she expressed regret about past US policy mistakes (including the 1953 coup), lifted sanctions on carpets and food items, and offered Iran a global settlement. Years later, Iran's President Mohammad Khatami would characterize this event as a "missed opportunity."
